英語歳時記【大みそか】

今週の英語歳時記は大みそかです。
もう1週間後は、大みそかも過ぎて新年を迎えるんですね。。。
準備（たいした準備はないけど）が何もできていないです。

【New Year's Eve】
On New Year's Eve, people eat year-end buckwheat noodles after preparing for the New Year.
It is customary to welcome the New Year by listening to the toll of the temple bells.

【大みそか】
大みそかには、正月の準備を整えた後に年越しそばを食べます。
除夜の鐘を聞き、信念を迎えるのがならわしです。

《豆知識》
初詣は、New Year's visit to a shrineと言います。
